Ahead of Remembrance Week in this World War One Centenary Year, an eclectic mix of star guests contribute to a unique performance this autumn commemorating war poet Wilfred Owen and his time spent in Yorkshire.
To mark the centenary of World War 1, Roger Williams will perform Benjamin Britten’s War Requiem accompanied by the Choir in Selwyn Chapel.
Feelgood Theatre presents Stephen MacDonald’s inspirational must see play in Wilfred Owen's home town of Shrewsbury. There will be a post-show Q&A following the performances on Monday 8pm & Tuesday 1.30pm.
A new play set in Ors just days before the 1918 armistice was announced. The camaraderie between Wilfred and his men, the longing for home and the long suffering acceptance of the war set the scene for the final day of Wilfred’s life. His poetry runs through the play bringing to life the whole experience of being a soldier in the ‘Great War’.
