Winchester Poetry Festival

Booking for the new Winchester Poetry Festival is now open. Details of all the events during the weekend are on the Festival's website (www.winchesterpoetryfestival.org). 

The Wilfred Owen Association is sponsoring a Commemorative Reading event on the Sunday afternoon (2.30-3.45pm) in Winchester College War Cloister, in which Michael Longley, the distingished poet and WOA Poetry Award recipient, is taking part.

The Wilfred Owen Association International Poetry Competition

 This free event at Winchester, on September 14th, celebrates the announcement of the winning poems, with readings by the poets and presentation of the prizes.

To mark the Centenary of the outbreak of WW1, The Wilfred Owen Association has launched an International Poetry Competition in commemoration of Wilfred Owen (1893-1918).  The prize-giving will take place during the Winchester Poetry Festival.

Fleming Collection event celebrating female WW1 poets

17/09/2014 Fleming Collection event celebrating female WW1 poets

The Fleming Collection is currently hosting a free exhibition titled "Traces of War: Landscapes of the Western Front", and as part of the exhibition are showing a selection of photographs depicting women at work in heavy industries during the conflict. To compliment this, they are holding an evening event celebrating the women poets of WW1.
