To mark Hiroshima Day, on Saturday 4 August 2012 Oswestry Coalition for Peace plan to hold a Peace Picnic between 10am and 4pm on Oswestry's Wilfred Owen Green, which is situated behind the Cambrian Railway Station on Oswald Road.
‘A Memorial to a Memorial’ is an outdoor site-specific art installation by artist, Vivian Pedley, dedicated to the WW1 memorial of the Tongswood Estate and the men who did not return from the war.
Inspired by and incorporating the war poetry of Wilfred Owen, this poignant exhibition of sculptures expresses the futures, hopes and dreams stolen by war.
An opportunity to meet the artist Vivian Pedley for an informal chat and to ask questions about the exhibition A Memorial to a Memorial.
A guided Isaac Rosenberg walk starting from Aldgage tube at 11am on 2nd September, followed by a talk by Jean Moorcroft Wilson and readings by actor Ben Caplan at 5.15pm in the East London Central synagogue.
Join Southbank Centre and the Poetry Society for this celebration of poetry featuring Dannie Abse, Wilfred Owen Poetry Award winner (2007), Helen Mort and others. The theme for this year's annual event is stars.
