A concert to commemorate the outbreak of the Great War in 1914.
Gladys Mary Coles will be giving a presentation on A.E.Housman, Wilfred Owen and Mary Webb at the Wenlock Poetry Festival to mark the Centenary of the start of the First World War. The title is:
'Three Shropshire War Poets : A.E.Housman, Wilfred Owen, Mary Webb'.
Three art installations, one of them, Wenches, features the poem "1914" by Wilfred Owen.
Free and open to the public every week-end in May
The Shrewsbury Ramblers Group will be holding a special Wilfred Owen Walk on Saturday 24th May.
Not about Heroes, a play by Stephen MacDonald, explores the relationship between Wilfred Owen and Siegfried Sassoon.
