Voices of War, Readings of war poetry interspesed with songs, together with a reception will take place at The Mitchell Theatre in Glasgow.
A Century of Songs: A programme of well-known poems of the First World War in settings by distinguished composers, from Butterworth, Gurney, Ireland, Finzi and Britten to contemporary composers, including some first performances.
To commemorate the the 70th anniversary of the start of WW2, The University of Manchester Chorus performs Britten's War Requiem, which intersperses the poetry of Wilfred Owen with the Mass for the Dead.
